Heather Hawkins

August 25, 2007

Heather wanted to use her fiance's grandmother's antique lace wedding from 1920. They had found the gown in the attic, but it had not been preserved. I researched how to restore antique lace, and was able to clean the lace and reinforce it with English netting. I used the preserved lace to make a modern styled wedding gown for Heather. We used an ivory satin lining instead of the original taffeta lining. With the remnants from the lace and taffeta I was able to make tissue holders for the mothers, and pocket scarves for the groom and fathers.

I also made Heather's wedding veil.
